Looking at the recent layoffs in Microsoft, Google, Meta, and Amazon, you have to decide whether to “Stay and Settle” or “Leave and Leap”

Those who Stayed and Settled are:

Sundar Pichai who joined Google in 2004 and became its CEO in 2015.

Satya Nadella who joined Microsoft in 1992 and became its CEO in 2014.

Andy Jassy who joined Amazon in 1997 and became its CEO in 2021.

Parag Agarwal who joined Twitter in 2011 and became its CEO in 2017.

But let’s not forget! Parag Agarwal was fired immediately after Elon Musk’s acquisition of Twitter.

Now’s a better time to talk about those who Left and Leaped:

Bin Lin worked for Microsoft and Google and left to start Xiaomi in 2010. His current net worth is $4.8 billion.

Sachin Bansal and Binny Bansal worked at Amazon and left to start FlipKart. Their current net worth is $1.2 billion and $1.4 billion respectively.

Rich Barton worked at Microsoft and pitched the idea of Expedia to Bill Gates, HIS EMPLOYER. His current net worth is $2.1 billion.

Jeff Lawson worked at Amazon, specifically Amazon Web Services (AWS), and left it to start Twilio. His current net worth is $1 billion.

Gabe Newell worked at Microsoft (his employer was Steve Ballmer himself) and left it to start Valve. His current net worth is $3.9 billion.

The choice is yours: Stay and Settle or Leave and Leap!
