This year has been an powerhouse of various situations, both good and bad. Some might say it was mostly bad and barely good and a few would think the latter. When the pandemic came bashing through the door, people were unaware and unequipped. therefore, they became victims to the situations they were unprepared for.

“A situation becomes stressful only when you compulsively react to it” — Sadhguru

Is there a possibility of knowing the pandemic would happen? And even if there wasn’t, could we had been prepared? It was rumored to be foreseen by experts but rumors aren’t really much to go on. Let’s assume that it wasn’t known and talk about how we could’ve simply prepared for it.

Take a brief moment to reflect on the few daily things you were not proficient or perfect in. Remember that course you wanted to do or that canvas you wanted to paint on? that special skill you wanted to master but couldn’t or that habit of yours you needed time to build? The way I see it, this was nothing short of baggage. When travelling, you never carry all the baggage throughout and prefer to travel light. In life, you’ve been travelling heavy and it was this pandemic that made you realize the mistakes.

“If you failed, you needed to fail. Failure is a step forward. Failure is paying your dues.” — In the Sphere of Silence, Dato Sri Vijay Eshwaran

The truth is we can never prepare for situations. If anything, we can prepare the human conscience for the most difficult of times. The life lived as if there’s no tomorrow, needs to be fixed. Even in these months, take a moment to assess your status financially, emotionally and health-wise and try to acknowledge and make an effort. I cannot say that you need to find what’s wrong because we all know what needs to be fixed deep down.

When you prepare the human conscience to tackle the world, the mind will see no problems, only challenges. The formerly limited potential will be unleashed and we would be prepared simply for the best of future. What we have is NOW and what we choose to do in NOW is simply a choice that will decide all your future endeavors. In this effort to heal and change, read books, be grateful, embrace change and constructive critiques, forgive people, become responsible, set goals and develop life plans.

“To see what is right but not do it means that you have already failed” —Dato Sri Vijay Eshwaran
